Our Little Girl

Autumn Rose Bodem arived at 11:36am on Monday, Feb. 22. She was 9 lbs and 21 in. Here are a few pics.

New Home

here are a few pics of our new home here in bluffton sc. we’re loving it! God is awesome. this is so much more house than we ever thought we could live in. it’s amazing how God provides not only for our needs but He goes way beyond what we could hope or imagine.

Here is the video i made up from our ski trip this past weekend. it was a great weekend. the trip home was a bit long, but still a great trip.

New Church

well i have been at my new church for about a month and a half now. i am finally starting to find my way around this confusing town. everything is beautiful but that makes it hard to find anyting. the church is great. we have started to make some great new friends and the ministry is starting to move forward. there is a lot of work to get the ministry in shape but it going to be great. one of the first things i did here was to help our web presence move into the 21st century. it’s taken some work but our new site is looing good. click here to check it out. there is still more to do on it but it’s coming along. the students are great here and im looking forward to building some great relationships with them. it’s going to be tough but it’s also going to be great.

Great Post

i know it’s been a while since i posted anything but im back at it. i came across a great post on perry noble‘s blog and it really resonaited with me. here is a bit of it. click here to read the rest of his post.

I often reflect on my early years in ministry…and the questions I wrestled with then.  As I look at my struggles my first five years…not that much has changed.  I still struggle with the same things…

#1 – Why do people criticize a church that reaches people?

I remember hearing early on in my ministry how evil Willow Creek/Bill Hybels was…so…I went to a conference where Hybels was speaking (so I could make my own decision) and watched him WEEP over people far from God (something I had never seen his critics do!)  It didn’t take me long to realize that his critics were not motivated by concern…but rather jealousy.

Yet…this still happens today.  In fact, it is quite popular to speak against anything that is growing in Christian circles…because if it can be shown in a negative light then it empowers other churches/organization to stay where they are and not make any sorts of adjustments.

Tonight

tonight im covering a basic question… can i know for sure that ill go to heaven when i die? it’s simple but i think it will hit home with some of our students. i always like to hit on some basic stuff throughout the year.
